Un truc fait à la base pour le groupe Daily Spitpaint mais finalement j'ai passé trop de temps 

à expérimenter avec les couleurs et donc j'ai dépassé la limite de 30 minutes!

Un peu étrange le process sur celui-là mais je suis contente du résultat :)

Something I originally made for the Daily Spitpaint group but I actually spent to much 

time experimenting with colors so I went through the 30 minutes limit!

The process was a bit weird on this one but I like the result :)

Fiouuu, un bout de temps que j'ai rien posté ici moi...
Pour cause j'étais en vacances mais je n'ai pas chômé, mais je poste la plupart de mes travaux

Oh my..it's been awhile since I posted something on this blog...

Well I was on holidays so..but I I did a bunch of stuff  but I usually post it more regularly

 on facebook, tumblr or DA!

And this blog's been quite deserted!

So here's a huge update with the pictures I did this summer :)

Uninhabited Planet

Me revoilà! Et enfin avec une illustration perso! 

Je suis enfin en vacances et j'en profite pour faire les choses qui me trottent dans la tête depuis longtemps!

J'étais partie sur une study d'une photo de cosmonaute mais bon, 

c’est un cosmonaute, c'est l'espace donc voilà quoi, ça a fini en illu ^^

Je suis vraiment contente de cette illu, et c'est une des rares 
où j'ai vraiment pris mon temps et été patiente!

Bref, je pense qu e je vais me forcer à passer plus de temps sur mes illus maintenant ^^

Donc voilà, environ 10h de boulot je crois:

I'm back baby! And finally a personnal illustration! 

At last I'm on holidays so I can do the things I had in mind for a long time now!

I was on for a picture study but hey! it's a cosmonaut and it's space guys, 

so I got carried away and it ended up being an illustration ^^

I'm very happy with this pic and it's one of the rare moment 
I actually took my time and try and be patient!

Anyway, I think I'll force myself to spend more time on my illustrations from now on ^^

So here it is, I'd say about 10 hours of work:

Memento Mori

Voilà voilà, mon expo de finissants est terminée 

et je peux donc enfin vous montrer le projet que j'ai présenté!

Il s'agit d'un triptyque réalisé à l'acrylique sur des toiles montées sur faux cadre!

Aucun contrainte pour ce projet, on était totalement libre.

There there, my exposition is finally over 
and so I can finally show you the piece I presented!
It's a triptych done in acrylic on canvas!
No restraint on this project, we were completely free.

J'ai donc voulu représenté trois crânes d'espèces différentes:

 un bison, un humain et un corbeau, avec pour chacun des 'symboles'. 

J'ai voulu exprimé un ressenti, une vision de l'homme destructeur en opposition à la nature qui subit.

I wanted to depict three skulls from different species:
a bison, a human and a crow with, for each of them, a 'symbol'.
I wanted to express a feeling, a vision of the destructive man opposing to the undergoing nature.

J'ai beaucoup aimé travaillé sur ce projet!

Nouvelle peinture faites pour un de mes cours!

Thème libre mais on devait prévoir un endroit dans Montréal où intégrer notre peinture! 

J'avais imaginé la mienne dans une station de métro (Berri-Uqam pour ceux qui connaissent ^^)

A mettre parmi le flot d’affiches publicitaires!

Vous l'aurez probablement remarqué mais je me suis inspirée du travail d'Alphonse Mucha pour faire cette peinture! 

Encore une fois, support monté par mes soins, c'est une plaque de loan montée sur faux cadre :)

Free subject but we had to imagine a place in Montreal we would've like to put it! 

I imagined mine in a subway station (Berri-Uqam for those who are familiar with Montreal ^^)

Right among the flood of advertising posters!

You probably already noticed it but I was inspired bu Alphonse Mucha's work for this one!

There again, I mounted a wood plaque on a subframe myself!

Sinon, je bosse sur le projet que je vais présenter à mon expo de finissants!

On est casi 70 étudiants à finir cette année, et on est en pleine préparation de l'expo en parallèle ^^

Je suis pressée de pouvoir vous montrer tout ça :)

Otherwise, I'm currently working on the project I wanna' present at my school 's exhibition! 

We're almost 70 students finishing this year and we're planning our exposition ourselves ^^

Anyway, I can't to show you guys everything about it :)

Dead Astronauts

J'ai enfin récupéré une peinture que j'ai terminé il y a quelques temps 

mais qui dormait gentiment à l'école en attendant d'être évaluée!

J'ai vraiment aimé bossé sur cette peinture parce qu'on était 

beaucoup plus libres au niveau du sujet, de la façon de faire,etc

On avait juste la contrainte de travailler sur l'expression d'un sentiment 

ou un sujet tabou et de ne pas utiliser de noir!

En tout cas pas de noir sorti du tube mais un noir fabriqué à partir d'autres couleurs,

 ce que je trouve vraiment mieux que le noir que l'on achète!

Le noir est beaucoup plus riche en nuances :)

I finally got my painting back, I finished it a few time ago but it was 

confortably sleeping in my school waiting to be graded!

I really enjyed working on this painting because we were 

more free regarding the subject, the way to do it, etc.

We just had the constraint to work on expressing a feeling 

or a taboo subject and also not working with black!

Anyway not a the black you buy but one we had to make from other colors,

which by the way, I think is way better!

This black has way more shades :)

et que je suis contente d'avoir enfin pu réaliser!

Petit fait notable: j'ai monté le cadre et la toile moi-même! ^^

and I'm glad I could finally make it!

Fun fact: I built up the frame and canvas myself :)

Alors voilà, première illustration d'une série sur un univers qui me fascine depuis toute petite:

J'ai donc plusieurs illus en projets déjà mis en croquis!

Peut-être que j'en ferais une histoire puisque les personnages sont récurrents et qu'on pourra retrouver 

une certaine continuité/évolution au fur et à mesure mais je verrais comment je le sens :)

En espérant que ça vous plaira autant que j'aurai de plaisir à les réaliser ^^

A ghost story

Voilà une illustration que j'ai faite hier soir!

J'ai découvert hier le projet Ghost Book sur Kickstarter et, par la même occasion, ai vu qu'il faisait un appel à entrée! 

(une illustration ou un strip sur le thème des fantômes)

Alors évidemment, je me suis précipitée sur ma tablette pour essayer de faire quelque chose de présentable!

 J'aurais aimé découvrir ce projet plus tôt et avoir le temps de faire une illu bien peaufinée mais bon :)

Malheureusement, ils ont déjà choisi leurs gagnants et je n'en fais pas partie!

Mais peu importe, c'était un chouette sujet et c'est un super projet à soutenir!! ^^

Here's an illustration I did yesterday evening!

I stumbled upon this Ghost Book project on Kickstarter, and at the same time discovered they were making a call for entries! 

(illustration or comic strip on the Ghost subject)

So, of course, I rushed to my tablet to try and do something presentable!

I would've like to find out about this sooner so I'd have the time to refine my illustration but hey, what can you do :)

Unfortunately, they've already chosen the winners and I'm not one of them!

Anyway, it was a great theme to work on and it's a great project to back!!^^
